CHIROPRACTIC REDEFINED

At Aten Chiropractic & Sports Rehab, chiropractic care goes far beyond quick adjustments. We use a modern, evidence-informed approach that blends precise spinal and joint manipulation with advanced manual therapy, dry needling, and targeted exercise rehabilitation. By assessing how you move, not just where you hurt, we address the root cause of pain, restore proper mechanics, and build strength and resilience. This integrated model helps active adults and athletes move better, perform better, and stay in the game longer.

Chiropractic

Precision chiropractic care built for active people who expect more from their bodies—not just less pain. We use targeted, evidence-based adjustments to restore proper joint motion, reduce irritation, and improve how your whole system moves together. The result: you move more freely, generate more power, recover faster, and stay in the game longer—with fewer flare-ups, fewer setbacks, and more confidence every time you move, train or compete.

Manual Therapy

Advanced ART and myofascial release to break up adhesions, restore smooth tissue glide, and unlock restricted areas that are holding you back. This keeps your muscles firing efficiently, protects you from overuse injuries, and helps you maintain explosive power and fluid, athletic movement in training, competition or whatever you enjoy doing.

Dry Needling

Targeted trigger point dry needling to release deep muscle tension, calm overactive nerves, and speed up recovery where you need it most. By reducing pain at the source and restoring normal muscle function, we help you move with less restriction, regain lost mobility, and perform at a higher level in both training and everyday life.

exercise Rehabilitation

Exercise rehabilitation built around your real life—not a generic printout. We design progressive, easy-to-follow programs that fit your schedule and activity level, retrain proper movement patterns, and strengthen the areas that keep breaking down. The goal: help you move better, stay active doing what you love, and dramatically lower your risk of future injuries.

Class iv Laser therapy

High‑intensity Class IV laser therapy to drive light energy deep into injured tissues, reduce inflammation, and speed up healing at the cellular level. By decreasing pain, improving circulation, and accelerating tissue repair, we help you move with less soreness, restore comfortable range of motion, and get back to high-level training and daily life faster.

Cupping

Targeted cupping therapy to lift and decompress tight tissues, improve blood flow, and flush out built-up tension. By reducing pain, easing stiffness, and enhancing circulation, we help you move with less soreness, restore comfortable range of motion, and get back to high-level training and everyday life feeling lighter and more mobile.

Dr. Alex Aten began his chiropractic practice in Colorado before moving back to Lincoln in 2014. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas City and has advanced training in Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Active Release Techniques (ART) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). Dr. Aten has additional training in Exercise Strength and Conditioning, Evaluation and Treatment of Sports Injuries, Structure & Function Dry Needling and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Medicine Specialist and a Certified Health Coach.

Dr. Aten grew up in Grant, Nebraska, and then moved to Kearney, Nebraska, where he graduated from Kearney High School. He studied at Doane College for two years and was a member of the basketball and golf teams before transferring to the University of Nebraska at Kearney to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in health science.

After initially studying information systems and computer programming, his passion for health and fitness began to develop. When his best friend suffered a serious spinal cord injury, Dr. Aten spent time visiting him at the hospital. On one of those visits Dr. Aten shared that he wanted to change his career path to something in the health and wellness field. His friend encouraged him to become a chiropractor and that set him on his path to study the function and performance of the human body.

Watching his friend battle through his injury and the years of intense rehabilitation, walking alongside his sister the past eight years as she fights cancer and his years of experience in practice have shaped Dr. Aten into the caring and compassionate doctor he is today. He truly cares about each person who comes into his office, and his greatest desire is to be able to help them. He has witnessed that true change and growth takes commitment and consistency, and he applies these attributes to both his practice and his life.

In his practice, Dr. Aten’s goals are to (1) treat each patient with honesty and integrity and (2) find the primary cause of the symptoms. To provide the tools and plan necessary to get patients feeling and performing their best, Dr. Aten uses a combination of the following when appropriate:

  • Comprehensive examination

  • Chiropractic

  • Active Release Techniques (ART), IASTM, Cupping

  • Dry needling

  • Exercise Rehabilitation

  • Post-Surgical Rehabilitation

  • Class IV Laser Therapy

  • Blood Flow Restriction Therapy

  • Men's Health Coaching

Dr. Aten also has a vast multidisciplinary referral network that he utilizes when issues arise that are outside his scope of practice. He strives to do everything in his capacity using his knowledge, education and experience to help his patients.

Outside of his practice, Dr. Aten enjoys spending time with his wife, Marcela, and their three kids. He also enjoys intentional time growing his faith, staying active, playing golf, wood-working and cheering on the Broncos and the Huskers.
